We have incredible sources of inspiration around us if we ‘look’ properly.
I was walking through the college gate, when an auto rickshaw took a halt near me. The driver helped a young, slim- built and small in height man to get down. I noticed that the man couldn’t see. A kind of composure and cheerfulness was evident about him. On his asking, driver assured him that he has brought him to the right place and beckoned me to him.
“Please take sahib inside”. I took him by the elbow and asked where he wanted to go. “Staff room”. This startled me. While walking towards it, I figured out the driver was still standing watching us go with his hands on his waist and a smile on his face, as if sweetly reminiscing the previous ride.
Still perturbed, I asked him, “Do you wish to see someone?” and the following moment I reproached myself for putting the question in an improper way. He flashed a forgiving smile, “No, it’s my first day, I’ve been appointed as lecturer here.” My amazement knew no bounds. “But….. and then I stopped myself from inviting another embarrassment for him as well as me. He didn’t seem to notice it. I was relieved.
Later in the day I saw him giving a lecture in a very keen-looking class which otherwise was famous for being notorious. I saw him delivering with utter confidence and was twice amazed.
Since that day he has inspired me in every way. Most expressive in meetings, most enthusiastic in interjecting in debates, I never saw him as a passive member of any gathering.
Not that the whole world has turned good for him. Students agitate on his queries, mimic his eyes while talking to him and mock his walking style, but sadly, they don’t understand whom are they mocking at. They fail to deter his confidence, they fail to see beyond his inability to see, his ability to grasp that extra, that he is devoid of and we avoid.
He is supreme example of trust, faith, confidence and self belief. It his trust on people, on this big bad world that he believes the auto driver that he will take him to the right place, the teachers will drop him to the right class, the students will be listening to him while he is in the class, when he can precisely never see the reality.
It is his faith which keeps him going, his self belief that gave confidence even to the college authorities to give him such a responsibility to impart education. It’s true and funny, that we, with our senses intact don’t believe in things even when we see them first hand, experience them ourselves, while at the same time, there are people who believe in our senses and perceive the world through what we narrate to them and spin their world around it. It’s faith. Faith of a blind. Blind faith.

ITS A TRUE STORY GUYS!!!
Its a smooth read and very promising..
Thanks guys..
I just noticed there’s an ‘is’ missing in the second last paragraph, first line after ‘it’.
Very touching account of what wonders can be done with self confidence.
About the writing style: Small in height?: Its better written as short stature.
There is a little jerkiness while reading, which I guess could be improved by continous writing. Please also rate my article.
I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, and I believe it’s a thing that most people need to be focusing on. We can’t expect to get anywhere if we simply keep our minds stuck in the ground.
